About me…

Hello and welcome to my little studio online. My name is Kim and I am the gal behind the camera.  This is my little family. My husband of 20 years, J.C., my 15 year old son, Garrett and my 8 year old spark of life, Emma.

It began with one camera, one lens and my first baby. A stay at home mom, who like most moms, worry about money and what they will do when the children leave home. To help with family finances and not lose precious time with her children and family, Kim armed with talent, determination, and a little bit of desperation decided to pursue her passion and begin a home-based photography business. She turned their little country property and home into her “studio” and Labor of Love Photography was born.

Friends and acquaintances knew Kim was a gifted photographer and word-of-mouth quickly spread that her photos were different — special. They pushed her to pursue a business doing what she loved.  Using natural light and focusing on the beautiful and perfect studio that surrounded her, Kim’s photos of babies, children and family brought out a special uniqueness of each person she photographed.

A self-taught photographer, with a little business experience, Kim had the drive and the talent to turn her home into a a home-based business. Recognizing that all parents want to capture those precious memories that surround and make each family so unique, Kim realized she could bring a fresh perspective to photo shoots by providing the a comfortable country working space that would bring out the peace, joy and personality of each person she photographed.

I’ve been photographing babies and children since my first child was born in 2000.  “I began my career in 2013 after photographing a home birth of an acquaintance at church and was just hooked”, she said. Since then, she says, “I’ve photographed weddings, first communions, newborns and families”.

God has given each of us a beauty inside and out that no one else has.  It is my job to find that beauty and capture it so that you can see what the world already sees.
